Allegations: Failing to include its “U.S. Music Royalty Fee” in advertised prices
June 2020: This case was voluntarily dismissed and the named plaintiff entered a settlement agreement that was reached in a related case, Alvarez v. Sirius XM Radio.
2018: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Sirius XM in May. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the company makes consumers believe that lifetime subscriptions are measured by the life of the consumer when, according to the plaintiffs, the subscriptions are measured by the life of the receiver or automobile and not the consumer. The lawsuit was transferred to federal court in June. (Vaugh et al v. Sirius XM Radio Inc., Case No. 18-cv-10331, D.N.J.)
