October 2014: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Sharp Electronics for allegedly falsely marketing televisions as LED when they are actually LCD televisions that use light emitting diodes (LEDs) as a light source to illuminate the liquid crystal display (LCD) panel on which the picture is displayed.
