May 2018: The Cliff case was transferred to federal court. (Cliff et al v. Savannah Law School, LLC and John Marshall Law School, LLC, Case No. 18-cv-104, S.D. Ga.)
March and April 2018: Two class action lawsuits were filed against Savannah Law School, a branch of John Marshall Law School, for allegedly misrepresenting that it would continue to be accredited by the American Bar Association (despite the ABA’s October 2017 determination that John Marshall Law School was not compliant with its standards) and able to continue to provide its students with a legal education, when, in March 2018, after having accepted applications and deposits from students for the fall 2018 semester, Savannah Law School announced that it would be closing.
