May 2017: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Sargento Foods for allegedly falsely marketing Sargento cheeses as “natural” when, according to the complaint, the cheeses contain unnatural ingredients. (Stanton et al v. Sargento Foods, Inc., Case No. 17-cv-2881, N.D. Cal.)
