June 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Harbor Freight for allegedly misleadingly giving the impression that the Safety Lock-Out Switch feature in electric chainsaws – including the Portland, One Stop Gardens, and Chicago Electric Chainsaws – prevents them from operating after the power switch is in the off position when, according to plaintiffs, the power switch in the chainsaws malfunctions due to a defect causing the chainsaws to continue operating after being turned off.
