May 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Curtis International and Technicolor USA for allegedly falsely advertising the brightness of RCA digital home theater projectors. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the brightness of the projectors ranges from 2000 to 3100 lumens when, according to the complaint, testing shows that the lumen output is “substantially lower.” (Scanlon et al v.
