2012: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Rawlings Sporting Goods Co. for allegedly deceiving consumers and marketing its bracelets and necklaces, including the Rawlings Power Balance Performance Bracelet, as improving strength, balance, and flexibility by improving users’ natural energy fields. (The lawsuit was originally filed in California in 2012 and transferred to New Jersey in 2013.) (Orlick et al. v. Rawlings Sporting Goods Co., Inc., Case No. 13-cv-3231, D.N.J.)
