Puritan’s Pride’s Buy One Get One Free Promotion
In May 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Puritan’s Pride alleging that the company misleadingly markets that customers who purchase products may obtain other products for “free” (i.e., “buy one get one free” or “buy two get three free”) when, according to plaintiffs, the cost of “free” products are built into the price of purchased products. In addition, the complaint alleges that the company misrepresents that the “buy something get something free” promotions are available for a limited time when the complaint says that, in the last four years, the products have always been advertised with the promotion. (Larson et al v. Puritan’s Pride Inc. et al, Case No. 17-cv-2536, N. D. CA.)
