In November 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against United States Nutrition for allegedly deceptively using You know when you buy a big bag of chips, and you’re all psyched for a feast, and then it turns out there are like, three chips in the bag? That bag is slack filled.ed packaging for Pure Protein products. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the containers are nearly 40% empty space. (Matic et al v. United States Nutrition Inc., Case No. 18-cv-9592, C.D. Cal.)
