In February 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Dacotah Bank for allegedly misleadingly promising that it only charges overdraft and non-sufficient funds fees on transactions that overdraw an account when, according to plaintiffs, the bank charges such fees on transactions that do not put an account into a negative balance. (Schultes et al v. Dacotah Bank, Case No. 20-cv-28, D.N.D.)
