In November 2016, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Buffalo Trace Distillery for allegedly deceptively labeling Old Charter bourbon as 8-year aged bourbon when such claims are not true. (Parker et al v. Buffalo Trace Distillery, Inc., Old Charter Distillery Co., and Sazerac Company, Inc., Case No. 16-cv-8986, S. D. NY.)
