A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Northcentral University for allegedly operating a bait-and-switch scheme. The September 2018 complaint alleges that the university’s marketing materials misleadingly represent the time and money it takes to complete doctoral degrees. For example, the plaintiffs claim that the university represents that it takes 3 ½-5 years and $30,600 to complete a Doctorate in Education when, according to the complaint, the program takes almost seven years and costs more than $50,000 to complete.
