August 2013: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Mona Vie, a multilevel marketing company, for allegedly falsely advertising its juice products as providing “medical benefits to nearly every known medical condition” without adequate support for such claims. The complaint also alleges that the company misrepresents the content and nature of ingredients, uses deceptive testimonials, and falsely represents the qualifications of medical experts. (Plaintiffs filed an amended complaint in December 2013.) (Pontrelli et al. v. Mona Vie, Inc. et al., Case No. 13-cv-04649, D. NJ)
