In October 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Miyoko’s Kitchen for allegedly misleadingly marketing its European Style Cultured Vegan Butter as being a form of “butter” when, according to the complaint, the product does not contain any milk or dairy ingredients and its attributes are different than butter. (Brown et al v. Miyoko’s Kitchen, Inc., Case No. 18-cv-6079, E.D.N.Y.)
