In May 2014, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Michael Kors for allegedly falsely advertising its handbags are made of synthetic materials when, in reality, they contain animal products such as leather and fur. (Goodwin et al v. Michael Kors Stores, Inc., Case No. BC545518, Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles).
