Lawsuit accuses company of duping consumers into buying “unwanted” golf balls.
April 2014: This case was dismissed because the parties reached a settlement agreement. The settlement terms have not been disclosed. January 2014: A federal judge denied class certification of a lawsuit against Globalinx Pet LLC for allegedly misleadingly marketing its Kingdom Pets dog treats containing chicken jerky from China. Among other things, the complaint, which was originally filed in 2013, alleges that the company represents that the dog treats are “wholesome and nutritious” and safe when, according to the plaintiffs, many pets suffered illnesses or death after consuming the treats. The judge denied certification finding that a nationwide class would be improper because the company established that there are material differences between the laws of California and the laws of other states of potential class plaintiffs. (Holt v. Globalinx Pet LLC, et al., Case No. 13-cv-00041, C.D. Cal.).
