HomeAway, Inc.
A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against HomeAway, Inc. (an operator of vacation rental websites) for allegedly promising that it did not charge travelers any service fees and the use of its websites would remain free to travelers when, in reality, the company changed its business model in February 2016 and began to charge travelers additional fees to use its website. The complaint was filed in June 2016 and amended in October 2016. (Kirkpatrick et al v. HomeAway, Inc. and Does 1-10, Case No. 16-cv-733, W. D. TX.)
