Hand Sanitizers from 4E Brands
In August 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against 4E Brands for allegedly deceptively representing that the active ingredient in various brands of hand sanitizers – including Assured, Blumen, Klar and Danver, Hello Kitty by Sanrio, Honeykeeper, and Modesa – is ethyl alcohol when, according to the complaint, the active ingredient in them is actually the toxic ingredient methanol. (Pepe et al v. 4E Brand North America, LLC, Case No. 20-cv-6494, S.D.N.Y.)
