Gift Cards from Sleepy’s
July 2018: A federal judge preliminarily approved a proposed settlement agreement . According to its terms, class members who redeemed their gift cards will receive $25 in cash and class members who did not redeem their gift cards will receive the value of the card. January 2017: This case was transferred to federal court. (Case No. 17-cv-10110, D. MA.)
November 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Sleepy’s for allegedly offering gift cards to customers who purchased certain Sleepy’s products without adequately disclosing all of the conditions and restrictions of the gift cards, including that they were only valid for a limited period of time. (Plaintiffs filed an amended complaint in December 2016.) (Khun et al v.
