In November 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against HSBC Bank for allegedly misleadingly promising that it charges customers only one insufficient funds fee on a single transaction if an account does not have enough funds to cover a transaction when, according to plaintiffs, the bank routine charges multiple insufficient funds fees on the same transaction.
