Employment and Income Rates of DeVry University Graduates

In June 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against DeVry University for allegedly misrepresenting the employment and income rates of its graduates. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the university misleadingly advertises that 90% of its graduates who actively look for jobs get a position in their field within six months of graduating when, according to plaintiffs, the percentage of graduates who get jobs in their field after graduation is much smaller. Plaintiffs also claim that the university misleadingly advertises that its graduates earn 15% more than graduates of other schools when, according to the complaint, DeVry graduates do not earn significantly more than graduates from other schools one year after graduation. (Lindberg et al v. Adtalem Global Education Inc. f/k/a DeVry Education Group, Inc. and DeVry University, Inc., Case No. 18-cv-649, W.D. Tex.)
