In September 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against ECOCO, Inc. for allegedly falsely labeling its Eco Style Professional Styling Gel line of hair products as “no flake” when, according to plaintiffs, such claim is not true as the hair products contain poly N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (PVP), which allegedly has a “natural tendency to produce flaking.” (Venus et al v. ECOCO, Inc., Case No. 19-cv-5400, E.D.N.Y.)
