Discounts Advertised at Eddie Bauer Retail Stores and Website
Allegations: Falsely advertising discounts from artificially inflated reference prices
In May 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Eddie Bauer for allegedly misleading consumers into believing they are getting a significant discount on merchandise sold at outlet stores when they’re not. The complaint claims that the store misleadingly represents that consumers are getting a significant percentage discount off of a false reference price when, according to the complaint, the merchandise is created exclusively for outlet stores and is never actually sold at the reference price. (Fisher et al v. Eddie Bauer, LLC, Case No. 19-cv-857, S. D. CA.)
