In October 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Coola LLC for allegedly falsely marketing that its sunscreens – including Sun Silk Drops, Refreshing Water Mist, Mineral Sun Silk Crème, and Mineral Sun Silk Moisturizer – provide protection across the entire infrared light spectrum when, according to plaintiffs, they do not. (Flaherty et al v. Coola LLC, Case No. 20-cv-5964, N.D. Ill.)
