December 2013: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Coca-Cola Company for allegedly falsely advertising its beverages as containing no artificial flavors or chemical preservatives when they actually contain phosphoric acid, an artificial ingredient used both for flavoring and as a preservative. Plaintiffs also claim that the company’s false statements and failure to disclose the presence of artificial flavoring and chemical preservatives in its beverages violate both federal and Arkansas state law.
