July 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Chipotle for allegedly falsely advertising that its menu is free of GMOs when, according to the complaint, menu items that are made using soybeans and corn contain low levels of GMOs. (Cruz et al v. Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., Case No. 19STCV25669, California State Court – Los Angeles)
