February 2022: The case was voluntarily dismissed because the parties settled.

November 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Huhtamaki, Inc. for allegedly falsely marketing Chinet disposable plates and bowls as “eco-friendly” and compostable when, according to the complaint, the products contain substances that do not break down into usable compost. (Hernandez et al v. Huhtamaki, Inc., Case No. 20-cv-8155, N.D. Cal.)
