Lawsuits allege quantum technology claims aren’t picture-perfect.
In April 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Carrington Tea Company for allegedly falsely advertising Carrington Farms coconut oil products as healthy and a healthy alternative to butter and various cooking oil when the coconut oil products are, according to plaintiffs, unhealthy because they contain dangerous amounts of saturated fat, which causes health risks such as heart disease and stroke. Additionally, the complaint alleges that the labeling and advertising violates federal and state food regulations. (Zemola et al v. Carrington Tea Company, LLC, Case No. 17-cv-760, S. D. CA.)
