CapillusUltra and Other Laser Caps

A false advertising class-action lawsuit against Curallux was filed in April 2020. The complaint, which was amended in June 2020, alleges that the CapillusUltra, CapillusPlus, Capillus X+, and CapillusPro laser caps provide light treatment that causes hair to grow “without side effects” when, according to plaintiffs, the caps cause several side effects, including temporary hair shedding, itchy and dry scalp, dandruff, headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Plaintiffs also claim that the company markets the caps as “physician recommended” when, according to the complaint, the doctors who have recommended the laser caps have a financial incentive to do so because they sell the caps.
