August 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against 4e Brands for allegedly deceptively marketing that the active ingredient in Blumen Hand Sanitizer is seventy percent ethyl alcohol without disclosing that methanol, a dangerous alcohol, is also an active ingredient in the product. In addition, the complaint alleges that the company deceptively represents that hand sanitizer “kills up to 99.9% of germs.” (Callantine et al v. 4e Brands North America, LLC, Case No. 71D05-2008-CT-000283, Indiana State Court – St. Joseph County)
