Aquafeel Water Filtration Systems

In September 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Aquafeel Solutions for allegedly making deceptive representations to sell water filtration systems. Specifically, the complaint claims that the company:

  • Misrepresents that the water system self-detects all problems and automatically alerts technicians to resolve them when, according to the complaint, the system does not self-monitor;
  • Misrepresents that a warranty covers servicing of the water system when, according to plaintiffs, the company does not fix the system pursuant to the warranty;
  • Misrepresents that those who finance the system would have a fixed interest rate of 5.9% when, according to the complaint, the interest rate was 5.9% for the first year only and 13.99% for each additional year; and
  • Fails to disclose that financing the water system is secured by a lien on the buyer’s property as collateral.
