In February 2016, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Angie’s List for, among other things, allegedly misleadingly marketing its content – including the order that service providers appear in search results – as based on unfiltered feedback from consumers when, in reality, service providers can and do pay “advertising” fees to appear higher in search results.
