Advertising for UnitedHealth’s Medicare Plans with AARP’s Logo
In November 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed alleging, among other things, that advertising for UnitedHealth’s Medicare Plans with AARP’s logo and name violates California law, which prohibits advertising for insurance directed at people 65 years and older to include the name and logo of any non-profit or senior organization. The lawsuit was transferred to federal court in December. (Levay et al v. AARP, Inc. and UnitedHealth Group, Inc., et al, Case No. 17-cv-9041, C.D. Cal.)
