The FTC issues an order to reopen and set aside the 2024 final consent order after determining that the complaint failed to satisfy the legal requirements of the FTC Act and that the order unduly burdens AI innovation in violation of the Trump Administration’s Artificial Intelligence Executive Order and America’s AI Action Plan.

2024
December 18

The FTC announces that it has approved the proposed consent order and has issued a final order.

November 4

TINA.org submits a comment to the FTC regarding a proposed consent order reached in the case it filed against Rytr. In its comment, TINA.org supported the FTC’s efforts in protecting consumers and honest businesses from the proliferation of false and deceptive reviews used in marketing.

September 25

The FTC opens an enforcement action against online service Rytr LLC regarding its AI-generated reviews.
