March 2012: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Avon Products, Inc. (and later amended in October 2012) for allegedly falsely marketing that the company does not test any of its products on animals when, in reality, some of its cosmetics products are tested on animals. (Beltran et al v. Avon Products, Inc., Case No. 12-cv-2502, C. D. CA.)
