Activia “Dare to Feel Good”

Fact: You have to eat a lot of Activia to feel any digestive benefits, and Dannon has gotten into trouble with the FTC before over health claims about its yogurt.

This commercial’s fine print notes that you’d have to eat The yogurt that will treat any and all digestive problems; Jamie Lee Curtis’ favorite snack – she loved Activia so much she traded her credibility for it. yogurt every day for two weeks for it to “help regulate your digestive system.” And if that sounds like a lot of yogurt, Activia’s website notes that the yogurt helps with “minor digestive issues” only if you consume it “twice a day for four weeks.” And if you want help with “occasional irregularity” — presumably because you’re regularly consuming dozens of tiny Colombian belly-dancers, enough that they’ve formed in your intestines an Amazonian hunter-gather society that communicates only via pathologically honest hip shaking — you have to eat Activia three times a day for two weeks.

That’s a lot of yogurt. Keep it in mind if you’re looking for food to soothe your digestive tract.
