TINA.org joined a coalition of 40 consumer protection advocates in filing an amici curiae brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of FTC Commissioner Slaughter’s lawsuit against President Trump regarding her removal from office.

The Supreme Court issues an opinion holding that the FTC’s for-cause removal provision is unconstitutional and reverses the lower court’s ruling that had restored Commissioner Slaughter to office.

The Supreme Court hears oral argument. A ruling in the case is expected by June 2026.
