FCC Proposes ‘All-In’ Pricing Rule for Cable and Satellite Industry
TINA.org applauds proposed rulemaking and recommends addition.
In July 2023, TINA.org submitted a comment in response to the Federal Communication Commission’s request for comments regarding its proposal to require cable operators and direct broadcast satellite providers to clearly and prominently display the total cost of video programming services in promotional materials and on subscribers’ bills (i.e., “all-in” pricing).
In its comment, TINA.org supported the FCC’s proposed rulemaking to enhance pricing transparency, but also urged the Commission to explicitly address bundled – and related – services in the text of the proposed rule.
