Cosmetics at Ulta Beauty
In January 2018, a false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Ulta Beauty for allegedly selling used cosmetics as if they were new. According to the complaint, cosmetics that have been returned to the store are repackaged and resealed to look like new products and then sold at full price as if they were new. (Smith-Brown et al v. Ulta Beauty, Inc., Case No. 18-cv-610, N.D. Ill.)
