TINA.org review of more than 150 e-cigarette sites finds a wide variety of questionable claims.
January 2016: A Consolidated Amended Complaint was filed against sellers of Blu electronic cigarettes for allegedly deceptively marketing e-cigarettes as safe without adequately disclosing health risks associated with them. December 2015: Several cases were consolidated and plaintiffs were given 45 days to file a consolidated amended complaint.
November 2015: This case was transferred to another court in California. (Case No. 15-cv-2018, C. D. CA.)
September 2015: A class-action lawsuit was filed against sellers of Blu electronic cigarettes for allegedly failing to disclose the presence of formaldehyde and failing to warn that consumers who use the product are exposed to significant amounts of harmful carcinogens. (Whitney et al v. ITG Brands, LLC; Fontem US, Inc.; Loec, Inc.; and Reynolds American Inc., Case No. 15-cv-4003, N. D. CA.)
